A backyard pool is one of the most rewarding investments a Toronto homeowner can make — but the water is only half the picture. The deck and surround is what transforms a simple swimming pool into a true outdoor living space. It’s where families gather on hot July afternoons, where neighbours linger over drinks on warm evenings, and where a plain concrete edge becomes an elegant extension of your home.

For over two decades, we’ve watched that transformation happen again and again. Why Toronto residents love our pool decks & surrounds comes down to one simple truth: we build them to look beautiful on day one and to stay that way for decades.

Toronto backyards put outdoor surfaces through a lot. Freeze-thaw cycles in winter, heavy snowmelt in spring, intense UV exposure in summer — cheap pool surrounds crack, heave, and shift under that kind of pressure. Homeowners across the GTA quickly discover that the lowest-cost option is rarely the best value.

Interlock and natural stone pool decks perform differently. Properly engineered base preparation, correct drainage, and quality materials mean a surround that resists movement, stays level, and holds its colour through every season. That’s especially important around a pool, where settling surfaces create trip hazards and water can pool where you don’t want it.

Whether you’re in a mature Toronto neighbourhood, a newer build in Vaughan or Markham, or a large property in Caledon or Georgetown, the fundamentals don’t change: the ground beneath your pool deck matters as much as the stone on top of it.

Safety and comfort. A properly finished pool surround gives bare feet a smooth, cool, slip-resistant surface — no more scorching concrete or sharp aggregate edges.

Low maintenance. Unlike wood decking that needs staining and sealing, interlock and stone surrounds simply need occasional sweeping and rinsing.

Added property value. A professionally designed pool deck and surround is one of the most visible improvements a buyer will see. It reads as a finished, intentional backyard rather than an afterthought.

Design flexibility. With flagstone, natural stone, and interlock options, we can match the surround to your home’s architecture — clean and modern, traditional and textured, or something entirely custom.

Seamless flow. A great pool deck connects naturally to your patio, walkways, and steps, so the entire backyard feels like one cohesive space rather than separate projects.

Pro-Loc Interlocking & Landscape Design Ltd. has been serving Toronto and the GTA since 2003. We’re a full-service design-build firm, which means one team takes your project from the first concept sketch through to the final stone being set. No juggling multiple contractors, no gaps in accountability.

That consistency is a big part of why Toronto residents love our pool decks & surrounds. You meet with us, you plan with us, and the same company delivers the finished result — with the craftsmanship standards we’ve built our reputation on.

We’re proud to be a 9-Time HomeStars Best of Award winner, recognition that comes directly from the homeowners we’ve worked with across Toronto, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, Georgetown, and surrounding communities. We also bring that same standard of quality to commercial projects, where durability and safety are non-negotiable.

Every pool deck we build starts with proper excavation, a compacted granular base, and thoughtful grading so water moves away from your pool and foundation. On top of that foundation, we work with materials chosen for both beauty and performance:

Because we’re a complete landscape design and build firm, we can also extend your pool area into a full outdoor destination:

Each element is planned together, so your pool deck doesn’t just sit in the backyard — it anchors the whole design.

Two decades in the GTA means we’ve worked with just about every soil condition, lot shape, and municipal consideration this region can offer. We understand how Toronto-area winters affect hardscape materials, and we build accordingly. That local knowledge is exactly why Toronto residents love our pool decks & surrounds — they’re designed for this climate, this city, and the way people here actually use their backyards.

If you’re planning a new pool, refreshing an aging surround, or finally turning that unused corner of the yard into something you’re proud of, we’d love to help.

Pro-Loc Interlocking & Landscape Design Ltd. Serving Toronto and the GTA — including Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, Georgetown, and beyond — for residential and commercial clients since 2003.

Reach out today, and let’s design a pool deck you’ll enjoy for years to come.

A Pool Deck Built for the Toronto Climate
