Expert Putting Greens & Sport Courts in Kitchener: Transform Your Backyard Into a Year-Round Destination

A backyard in Kitchener has always been a place to unwind — but more and more homeowners are asking for something more than a lawn and a patio. They want a space that gets used every day, by every member of the family, from the first warm weekend in April to the last crisp evening in October. That’s exactly where expert putting greens & sport courts in Kitchener come in.

At Pro-Loc Interlocking & Landscape Design Ltd., we’ve been designing and building custom outdoor spaces since 2003. As a full-service design/build firm, we handle everything from the first sketch to the final detail — and a backyard putting green or multi-sport court is one of the most rewarding projects we take on.

Why Kitchener Properties Are Perfect for a Putting Green or Sport Court

Kitchener and the surrounding Waterloo Region have a lot going for them: generous lot sizes, mature neighbourhoods, and a strong culture of outdoor living. Whether you’re in a family home near the Grand River or managing a commercial property that wants to stand out, the space is often there — it just isn’t working hard enough.

A traditional lawn requires weekly mowing, watering, and constant maintenance. A professionally built putting green or sport court, on the other hand, delivers:

• Low-maintenance performance — no mowing, no muddy patches, no reseeding
• Consistent play surface — true roll on the green, predictable bounce on the court
• Year-round visual appeal — a sculpted, manicured feature that looks intentional in every season
• Higher property value — a genuine differentiator in a competitive real estate market
• More family time outside — practice your short game, shoot hoops, or host a friendly tournament without leaving home

For families with kids in sports, a multi-use court is a game-changer. For golf lovers, a custom green with varied pin positions and realistic contours becomes a daily ritual.

Craftsmanship Is Everything

An outdoor putting green or sport court is only as good as what’s underneath it. This is where experience separates a lasting installation from a costly mistake.

At Pro-Loc, every project begins with proper base preparation — excavation, grading, and a compacted aggregate foundation engineered to prevent settling, pooling, and surface movement through freeze-thaw cycles. From there, we build with:

• Premium synthetic turf systems designed specifically for putting greens, with true-roll performance and realistic fringe detailing
• Durable sport court surfaces built for basketball, tennis, pickleball, and multi-sport use
• Edge restraints and drainage considerations to protect the investment for years
• Custom contouring and shaping so your green reads — and plays — like the real thing

We also integrate these features into the broader landscape, pairing them with interlock patios, stone walkways, retaining walls, outdoor lighting, cabanas and pergolas, or an outdoor kitchen and bar so the whole backyard feels like one cohesive design rather than a collection of add-ons.

A Design/Build Team You Can Trust

Choosing a contractor for a specialty build like this matters. Since 2003, Pro-Loc has completed residential and commercial projects across the Greater Toronto Area, and we’re proud to be a 9-Time HomeStars Best of Award winner — a recognition built on verified customer reviews and consistent, high-quality workmanship.

Our design/build model means you work with one team from concept to completion. We’ll assess your space, discuss how you want to use it, and design a putting green or sport court that fits your property’s grade, sun exposure, and lifestyle. No guesswork, no handoffs, no surprises.
