From Start to Finish: Putting Greens & Sport Courts in Vaughan

Your backyard is one of the most valuable spaces you own — and in Vaughan, where lot sizes are generous and families spend real time outdoors, it’s worth making that space work harder. Whether you’re a golfer who wants to practise a few dozen putts before dinner or a parent dreaming of a backyard rink-turned-basketball court, a professionally built putting green or sport court transforms an ordinary lawn into a destination. At Pro-Loc Interlocking & Landscape Design Ltd., we’ve been designing and building outdoor spaces across Toronto and the GTA since 2003, and we handle the entire process — from the first sketch to the final roll of the ball.

Why Vaughan Homeowners Are Choosing Custom Putting Greens & Sport Courts

Vaughan sits at the crossroads of the GTA, and its homeowners expect a lot from their properties. Between the busy commutes, the kids’ schedules, and the short window we get to enjoy our backyards, convenience matters. A putting green or sport court delivers recreation without the drive — no tee times, no gym memberships, no packed parking lots.

There’s also a practical case. A well-built court or green replaces high-maintenance turf with a clean, usable surface that holds up season after season. For families in Vaughan, Richmond Hill, and Markham, it’s an investment that pays back in daily use rather than occasional weekends.

Benefits You’ll Notice Right Away

• Endless, low-effort recreation — practice putting, shoot hoops, or play a full game of bocce without leaving home.
• Zero watering, mowing, or fertilizing — synthetic putting surfaces stay playable and green all season.
• Year-round structure — engineered bases resist frost heave and settling, which matters in Ontario’s freeze-thaw climate.
• Visual impact — a crisp green or clean-lined court reads as a designed feature, not an afterthought.
• Higher property appeal — a distinctive outdoor amenity sets your home apart in a competitive market.
• Family-friendly and safe — consistent, level surfaces designed with proper drainage and edging.

Our Approach: Crafted From Start to Finish

What separates a great putting green from a disappointing one isn’t the turf — it’s everything underneath. From start to finish, putting greens and sport courts in Vaughan demand proper excavation, a compacted granular base, accurate grading for drainage, and precise edging to hold everything in place through winter.

Our process is straightforward and transparent:

1. Consultation and design — we walk your property, talk through how you’ll actually use the space, and develop a layout that fits your yard’s shape, sun exposure, and existing landscaping.
2. Base preparation — the unglamorous work that determines longevity. Excavation, granular base, compaction, and drainage are done right the first time.
3. Installation — putting surfaces, court surfacing, and borders installed with attention to detail and clean finishing.
4. Integration — your green or court doesn’t stand alone. We tie it into patios, walkways, retaining walls, outdoor lighting, cabanas and pergolas, or an outdoor kitchen so the whole backyard feels intentional.

Materials and Craftsmanship That Hold Up

Ontario weather is unforgiving. Ground movement, frost, and heavy spring rains will find every weak point in a poorly built installation. We build with that reality in mind, using quality synthetic turf and surfacing materials, engineered base layers, and interlock and natural stone detailing that matches the rest of your landscape.

As a full-service design/build firm, we also bring the surrounding hardscaping in-house — interlock and stone patios, walkways, pool decks, steps and porches, retaining walls, fire features, and water features. That means one team, one standard, and one point of accountability from concept to completion.
